Chat Rooms
The chat is a great way to make new friends, share tips and tricks, or just pas the time chatting.
By Default, there is a Global (English) chat room, and a second for your native language, if it's not English. This second chat room will default to the language you have your Facebook account set to use, and Steam will detect the second language room by the language you have your Operating System set to sue.
You must stick to the language as indicated by the chat room labels.
There are some cool shortcuts you can use in the chat. Simply by clicking a players name, you will see 3 options:-
a) Ignore - Clicking this will ignore all future messages from that player, so if someone is annoying, you can use this option to "turn them off" in your chat window (To see who you have ignored, use the cog icon in the bottom left corner, you can open your Ignore List from there and manage the players listed.) Please note: Ignoring a Moderator or an Administrator will result in a chat ban
b) Private - Clicking this will open a private chat between you and that player. To close the chat, use the "X" to, minimize it, use the down pointing arrow.
- i. When you try and private message a player who is offline, it will tell you they are offline in the chat window after you have sent your message. You can still message them as it will store up to 100 messages for them to see when they come online.
ii. If someone messages you while you are offline, you will be able to see the last 100 messages they sent you when you log on. A private chat from the sender will open automatically for you when you log in, making you aware you have messages.
d) Show contact in the chat - Allows you to insert a players name into the chat
e) Ask to join (their club name) - Sends a request to that player to join their Stable Club
f) Invite to join (your club name) - Sends an invitation to join your Stable Club
Advertising your courses in the chat
If you want to advertise your courses you have made, or simply like a course that’s really cool that you think others should try, you can insert that course directly into the chat. You will find this in Ride and Play>Play Alone. On the right panel in the very lower right corner, there is a speech bubble that when clicked, will add the course into the chat. You have the option in the chat room then to either press "send" or click the red circle with a X in it to remove it. To play a course inserted, simply click on it and it will open for you
You will see some different colored names in the chat, these mean the following:-
Yellow - Game staff (Admin) and chat Moderators
Green - Subscribed Pro Riders
Blue - Non subscribed players
There is also a cog icon in the bottom left corner of the game screen. This has three functions:-
1. Ignores - To see who you have ignored, you can open your Ignore List from here and view and manage the players listed (If you find you cannot see what you type in the chat, check you have not accidentally ignored yourself!)
2. Rider Search - Typing a players name (or part of a name) will open a new window and locate the player you are trying to find. (You may need to be specific if more than one player has a similar name.) From there you can either view their profile by using the looking glass, or by clicking the name to open a private chat with them.
3. Settings - Allows you to open the settings window to make any adjustments to graphics and/or sound
Chat Room Rules There are a few rules to follow in the chat (these apply to all message boards in and out of the game also):- Please make sure you read the Terms of Service to ensure you understand all the chat room policies. You can find this easily in the menu at the top of the page here, labelled "Terms of Service and Privacy Policy" Any violation of the chat room rules, will result in a chat room suspension across all chat rooms. Terms of Service
We monitor the chat daily, and have moderators and administrators active to make sure that the chat rooms are a friendly and nice place to be, but if you see any behavior that you find disturbing or violates the terms of service, please feel free to either send us a screen shot of the chat to our Support Team at [email protected] or inform us of the players name and the time this occurred to the same email address. We will review it and carry out any action we feel necessary. Please do not post reports on the Steam forum or on the Facebook wall
Steam will open 2 chat rooms for you, Global (English) where players of all nationalities may come together and chat in one language, English, and also another chat depending on what language your operating system uses. For example, if your operating system is in German, you will have a German speaking chat room, and Global (English)
Facebook will also open 2 chat rooms for you, Global (English) where players of all nationalities may come together and chat in one language, English, and also another chat depending on what language you have your Facebook page set to use. For example, if your Facebook is in German, you will have a German speaking chat room, and Global (English)
Chat Moderators
Chat Moderators are there to keep the chats running smoothly and a pleasant place for all. They are also there to assist with any game questions you may have, but remember, they may not always have the answers and will contact us to find out if they don't know, so please be nice to them :)
Ignoring a Moderator or an Administrator will result in a chat ban, as will arguing with, impersonating or being rude or disrespectful. You will easily be able to recognize them as their names are yellow in the chat rooms.
It's easy really, be nice and don't annoy others :)
